Today I took off for the Colorado Rockies. The first day out is a difficult one because you have to cross the Mojave and Arizona deserts where it can get up to 115 in the summer. Fortunately for me, today wasn't too bad, in fact, I drove most of the way through the desert with my windows rolled down! The pic above was taken near Needles California. These particular stretch of the mountains is incredibly beautiful but is inaccessible this time of the year because of the extreme heat. Someday, I hope to explore this strecth in the mountains but it will have to wait until I take a trip this way in late winter of early spring.
I arrived in Flagstaff around 3:00 and just set up camp and ran a few errands. Tomorrow I am going to get up early and head out to Grand Canyon and hike down into the canyon. I have been to Grand Canyon but have never hiked its Canyon Walls. I don't know how far I will go but I'll try to get a good workout and get some good pictures to post here. Later that day I'll be heading over to Mesa Verde for my next adventure!
